Import Merchandiser – Job Role
To manage category stock levels to achieve or better the planned Sales and margin forecasts.
- Stock levels within a designated category

Responsibilities as our Import Merchandiser
Control the allocation and movement of store stock though efficient initial allocation and ongoing replenishment and manage the direct import function from factory exit to landed, as well as manage and develop the load planning schedule for container maximization.
You must recommend actions based on commercial trade vs MOQ, manage stock levels for promotional activity and control store stock levels to reflect market trends / demands and planned sales and stock levels for relevant category
Other accountabilities include develop and implement effective stock forecasting processes for events including promotional programme, range review activity, seasonal changes and Christmas, identify, establish and coordinate initial stock requirements for new stores. To ensure the efficient control and coordination of stock both inwards and outwards of DDC
Provide and develop management reports to aid decision making process, work with buyer on range planning to maximise commercial opportunities for products and manage intake and commitment to accommodate the stock requirements of the business at any given time and the OTB requirements of the category
Skills and Experience needed to become our Import Merchandiser
Stock & merchandising skills typically gained through several years of experience. You will have the ability to communicate professionally & effectively with internal & external customers, ensuring Countywide customer standards are maintained, also you will have Flexibility and ability to be a team player.
You must have the ability to work & plan into the future typically 6 months in advance as well as excellent project management skills to enable change programmes to be successful. Data awareness, spot trends and forecast requirements and understand procedures for order calculations as well as have experience of managing stock in a multi-site retail environment
Be computer literate and accurate data input ability, particular experience in; Word, Excel , Outlook and stock control systems. To be action orientated, taking initiatives and addressing problems logically. Personally communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in written form. Have the ability to make decisions within given parameters, ability to work on extended planning periods and respond in a timely and effective manner to internal and external customers
